A Shot at Romance
Jess
All I want is to enjoy my sister’s bachelorette party, but, evidently, that’s impossible thanks to the nerve of the male species. Not only does my ex show up and throw a temper tantrum, but I also have Mr. Prom King trying to step in as my protector. As if.
The worst part? He doesn’t even remember me.
And yeah, okay, I can see why every girl in this place drools over him, with his blond hair, charming smile, and jacked muscles. None of that matters, though, because Aaron is a playboy… But I’m worried that if any man can make me forgive and fall hard, it’s this one.

When it comes to dating, I’m here for a good time, not a long time. I’m already trying to heal from my accident — no point adding on a broken heart too.
But when I see Jess going toe-to-toe with her ex-boyfriend in my bar, I’m not only impressed… my protective instinct takes over. Except… she’s not so happy with me. Because I didn’t actually recognize my high school girlfriend at first — not with those new tattoos and gorgeous curves that go on for days.
All those reasons I didn’t want anything serious? I start to forget why they mattered so much in the first place. And I’ll do whatever it takes to get a second chance.
I broke her heart once, but maybe now I can mend it for good.
